May 2017, Bandar Lampung City experienced an inflation of 0.89 percent due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 128.78 in April 2017 to 129.92 in May 2017. Four expenditure groups contributed to inflation in Bandar Lampung City, the group Foodstuffs contributed to inflation of 0.65 percent; Food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.03 percent; Housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.22 percent; And the transport, communication & financial services group by 0.01 percent. In contrast, the health group contributed deflation by 0.02 percent. While clothing and education, recreation, and sports groups do not contribute to inflation.
Some of the dominant commodities contributing to inflation include red peppers, house rent, garlic, rice, chicken eggs, electricity tariffs, squid squid, sand, vegetable tomatoes, and gasoline.
Based on the calculation of Consumer Price Index (CPI), Bandar Lampung's inflation was due to an increase in index in the foodstuff category which experienced an index increase of 2.78 percent; Finished food, beverage, cigarette & tobacco group by 0,14 percent; Housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel by 0.78 percent; Transport, communication & financial services group by 0.07 percent; And clothing by 0.04 percent. Conversely, the health group experienced deflation of 0.31 percent; And the education, recreation & sports group by 0.06 percent.
Bandar Lampung City Inflation is ranked 4th out of 82 cities that observed the development of its price. Of 82 cities, 70 cities experienced inflation, and 12 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual at 0.96 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Bulukumba by 0.02 percent. In contrast, the highest deflation occurred in Manado at 1.13 percent, and the lowest deflation occurred in Pematang Siantar by 0.01 percent.
